We have one less fish in our pond thanks to a giant blue heron.
It was really sad and traumatizing considering just yesterday we were enjoying our fishes. This particular koi, our favorite, was sucking on Michael's toes. It was really funny.

This one was the most unabashed of them all, liking its body to be brushed on the sides of our hands when it's feeding time. We liked it so, and now he's buried under our starfruit tree, so that its nutrients will nourish our young fruit tree. I guess in that way it's still here.
